Senior/Restaurant Manager
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior/Restaurant Manager. The successful candidate should have relevant experience, and excellent food, wine and cocktail knowledge. The ability to identify commercial opportunities and to lead the team through the challenges that each new day brings. You need strong leadership skills and customer focus to develop, coach and inspire your team to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Effective communication at all levels including computer literacy as a must. 28 days holiday. Competitive salary D.O.E. 45 Hours per week, 5 days over 7 including weekends and bank holidays.
Responsibilities include: Training and continued improvement of customer service,
organisation of tasks within department, overall maintenance of the internal fabric of the business - this includes hygiene and cleanliness of the premises and instructing the appropriate team members, to undertake ordering and stock control, being able to control stock and account for it, cashing up in conjunction with the accounts department, dealing positively with customer complaints and requests, planning rotas and working in conjunction with the accounts department and general manager regarding implications of overstaffing and indeed understaffing, targets and incentives, discipline etc.

Junior Chef de Partie
A vacancy has arisen at Lucy’s of Ambleside for a Junior Chef de Partie. Working in a busy kitchen alongside a hardworking and dedicated mixed brigade, responsible to the Head Chef.
This is a full time position for someone who is dedicated to the catering industry and possibly a senior commis chef looking to upgrade.
Lucy’s of Ambleside uses regional and local produce that is sourced throughout Cumbria and cooked in a global style. The person we are looking for will have flair and initiative, be able to work independently if required, wish to progress within the company as well as learning new skills under the expert guidance of the leading team. Adapt to a variety of culinary styles according to the area of work.
We are looking for a flexible and pleasant personality, good sense of humour, able to work under pressure, enjoy an environment that can at times be stressful without becoming stressed or mouthy!

Bookings and Front of House Receptionist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Lucy's of Ambleside team working to manage the first impressions of Lucy's of Ambleside. You will be responsible for:
answering emails, telephone bookings and enquiries, enquiries regarding other areas of the business, liaising with the senior supervisors over work scheduling and training, typing reports, appraisals and menus; meeting, greeting and seating guests, table planning and party bookings, ordering and stock control of consumables keeping records of targets, budgets and incentives, passing on messages and follow up, updating database and promotions
The person we are looking for will possess a very organised attitude, be an excellent timekeeper, have a professional but fun and sympathetic personality, excellent telephone manner, be both literate and numerate, possess IT skills and enjoy working with people from a variety of backgrounds and of all ages. This position is hugely varied and although based on organisational skills - every day in this position presents new challenges and introduces you to new personalities.

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Head Chef to join our well established team primarily based at our Ambleside restaurants.
The applicant will have an excellent all round knowledge of food preparation, stock and portion control including stock rotation, be able to cook and present food in the style that is synonymous to Lucy's of Ambleside and have a background in menu development. You will have knowledge of COSHH and HACCP requirements and have a proven track record in maintaining necessary kitchen documentation. They will be a good team player who enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities, able to lead and motivate a hard working group of individuals and encourage their development in all areas of the kitchen.
Lucy works with fresh produce sourced locally where possible and continually strives to improve in all areas.
The working week is 5 days over 7 including bank holidays, 28 days holiday per year. Competitive salary and bonuses dependant on experience.
