LUCYCOOKS SEEKS NEW GENERAL MANAGER

A vacancy has arisen for a General Manager at LucyCooks. Since its launch in 2006 LucyCooks has grown steadily and has a strong reputation and brand identity. The established staff team is drawn from different disciplines including administrative, retail and a chef team. Our customer base is drawn from a variety of sectors including the general public, the corporate/ training sector and the public sector. This is a full time post and may include occasional weekend work for special events. Main responsibilities •To manage a multi disciplinary team •To ensure high standards of delivery to all our different markets •To support the team in creating a highly professional environment with a warm and welcoming atmosphere •To challenge the chef team to ensure customer expectations are met and that the delivery of a course is in line with both our stated internal standards and the pre-course publicity •To liaise with personnel across the Lucy’s group •To manage relationships with external agencies to maximise their effectiveness ( e.g. PR agency, consultants) •To be an ambassador for the business across the region to suppliers, professional bodies etc Other areas •Overall day to day management of LucyCooks •External communications with customers, suppliers and intermediaries •Internal communications with team and Head office •Handling sales enquiries & implementing sales initiatives •Reporting performance to FD & MD •Recruitment of staff •Event management – shows, Open days etc •Liaison with MD on future business strategy What personal attributes are required/ desirable? •Professional approach •Commands respect and engenders commitment •Flexible approach to working conditions and environment •Self-motivated and enthusiastic •Ability to work on own initiative. •Effective team leader •Unaffected by ‘status’ issues – able to ‘muck in’ when required •Sense of humour •Meticulously focussed with ability to process large amounts of information and prioritise effectively •Good project planning skills – able to delegate effectively to external consultants Personal skills •Educated to degree level – preferable not essential. •Computer literate – Word and Excel in particular •Excellent communication skills: verbal/written. •Good problem solving skills. •Personal work planning and organisational skills •Experience of working in a service, business to business environment or in hospitality and retail.
