Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (commensurate with experience)
Summary of Job Purpose:
To take ownership and management of all aspects of catering for the business.
Lucy's on a Plate is an iconic Cumbrian restaurant situated in Ambleside, with a 25 year reputation for delivering eclectic food, a personalised menu and a warm welcome! We are known particularly for special occasions, events, reunions, gatherings and just local drop in dining.
The customer experience is tantamount to everything we strive to achieve. Therefore our Head Chef will need to demonstrate a balance of leadership, creativity and team collaboration whilst responding to the frenetic demands of our varied service offering.
This role will lead the kitchen team producing food of an extremely high standard, whilst liasing with suppliers and carefully managing cost, which will be reflected in wasteage and profit.
HACCP and EHO experience is mandatory for this position. In particular, our Head Chef will be expected to drive and monitor the recommended and legal requirements of health, safety and food hygiene.
Clear, composed and precise communication skills are essential to drive cohesive team work and efficient output. We are an equal opportunities employer and have in our employment staff with English as a second language. Your ability to instruct in a calm and inclusive manner is required.
In particular, you will work collaboratively with the management team, floor staff and kitchen support crew, to ensure that creating and delivering food for Lucy's on a Plate leads to a harmonious and seamless outcome.
